Second funding round to fuel future growth
thinXXS GmbH (now thinXXS Microtechnology AG) today announced that it has successfully closed its second funding round by raising € 2 million. The funds will be used to support the company’s rapid growth. In particular, thinXXS will increase production capacity, launch new models of its OEM micro pump, and significantly strengthen its sales and marketing presence.
The financing round was led by PRICAP Venture Partners AG, Hamburg, Germany. Other investors were tbg Technologie-Beteiligungs-Gesellschaft mbH, Bonn, and Fonds für Innovation und Beschäftigung Rheinland-Pfalz Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Mainz. "thinXXS has successfully established itself among the world’s leading companies active in microfluidics" acknowledges Wolfgang Biedermann, CEO of PRICAP. "At this stage, all partners endorsed the company’s vision and provided the funds needed for strong and profitable growth in the years to come."
"Demand for our products and production services is picking up quickly now", says Hans-Joachim Hartmann, spokesman of the executive board. "In answer to that, we are enhancing both our sales activities and our present production capacities. In addition, we will bring new pump models to the market in order to benefit fully from our position as virtually the sole supplier in the world capable of shipping a micro pump in high volumes."
